In 2019, in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the F.I.T.E projects will call on the Indonesian and International student community to consider the multiple factors that have contributed in the past, and still contribute in the present, to Indonesia’s maritime identity. This will align with UNESCO’s support to the government of Indonesia in promoting the history of maritime exchanges, or in other words, in mapping Indonesia’s “maritime corridors”.
The 2019 FITE Competition invites students to submit a 4 minute original video in response to the topic area of Maritime Heritage. In doing so students should keep in mind the following:
Once submitted, these videos will be judged by a panel of Indonesian, European and other judges and experts. Then the winning students will be invited, all expenses paid, to the May 2019 conference in Makassar and will present an "exhibition" of their points of view and arguments. Subsequently, the best two Indonesian students at the conference will then be awarded study tours to France.
